Magnetic Compass Deviation.

This article is similar to the previous post, but refer to compass bearings.

The Magnetic Compass Deviation is the angular deviation of a compass card, to right or left of the magnetic meridian, determined by the influence of magnetism of the ship or cargo;

Or

Is dihedral angle formed between the magnetic meridian plane and compass meridian plane;

It is variable from ship to ship and is depending on the magnetic course of the vessel.

The variation curve of a vessel’s magnetic compass is determined when adjust the magnetic compass.

This deviation will be verified time to time by various methods.
